The 32,600 sf Martha Riley Community Library was designed to complement adjacent Mahany Park sports complex and contribute to the City’s vision of a vital community hub. The uniquely designed space is comprised of a large Gathering (multi-use) Area, the Library, Conference Rooms and a Utility Exploration (learning) Center. The City’s inspiration for the facility was the idea of a contemporary, up-tempo, entertainment style environment that competes with local bookstores and coffee-houses as the “place-to-go.” Since its completion the facility has provided a unique experience for conversation, social events, interactive media use, and environmentally friendly reading and study areas. The Utility Exploration Center features interactive stations that teach how we each can live responsibly and contribute to the welfare the earth. Conference and audio /visual rooms offer seminar and event space that assure a steady stream of visitors who have found more than one reason to visit Mahany Park.
